Retaining Walls

A retaining wall is a structural addition that holds back soil, controlling erosion and creating functional, multi-level spaces. Built right, it holds the grade for decades. We're NCMA-certified SRW installers and we build them to spec.

Questions, answered.

What makes a retaining wall fail?

Almost always drainage and base prep — the parts nobody sees. Water builds up behind an unreinforced wall and pushes it out. That's what the gravel, drain, and geogrid are for.

Do I need a permit?

In much of Anne Arundel County, walls above a certain height need a permit and sometimes an engineer's stamp. We'll tell you where yours lands before we start.

What's an SRW?

A segmental retaining wall — engineered modular block. It's the system we're certified in through the NCMA.
